A fascinating study by Nancy Bradfield, a costume historian who was adviser to the National Trust on the Charles Wade Costume Collection and taught History of Costume at the University of Gloucester, of a range of dresses from a number of private and museum collections.

The contents are clean throughout and without stamps or inscriptions. A very good copy, the spine tips very lightly rubbed and the bottom corners slightly bumped. Illustrated on every page with highly detailed black and white costume sketches by the author, as well as 12 pages of colour costume photographs at the rear.
